ténodèse (-dèse, du gr. « action de lier »), subst. fém. 1. ,,Fixation d'un tendon déchiré ou sectionné à son lieu normal d'insertion`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972). 2. ,,Création d'un nouveau point d'insertion osseuse pour le tendon d'un muscle paralysé et sectionné à cet effet`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972).
ténolyse, subst. fém. ,,Section des adhérences constituées au niveau d'un tendon, visant à rétablir sa mobilité`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1977).
ténopathie, subst. fém. ,,Toute affection des tendons`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972).
ténophyte, subst. masc. ,,Excroissance osseuse ou cartilagineuse d'un tendon`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972).
ténoplastie, subst. fém. ,,Réfection chirurgicale d'un tendon`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1977).
ténotome, subst. masc. Petit bistouri à lame fine et courte montée sur longue tige, utilisé dans la ténotomie (d'apr. Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972). M. Bovary (...) approcha d'Hippolyte, son ténotome entre les doigts (FLAUB., Mme Bovary, t. 2, 1857, p. 14). Ténotomie, subst. fém. ,,Section chirurgicale d'un tendon`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1977). La ténotomie (...), l'arthrodèse, ont été tentées en maints cas (DOPTER ds Nouv. Traité Méd. fasc. 4 1925, p. 31).

ténosynovite, téno-synovite, subst. fém. ,,Inflammation d'un tendon et de sa gaine synoviale`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1977). Synon. synovite tendineuse (v. synovite dér. s.v. synovie).
REM. Ténosite, subst. fém. Synon. de tendinite. Ténosite, autre nom de la tendinite est très mal formé (COTTEZ 1982, s.v. tén(o)-).
Prononc. et Orth.:[teno], en syll. inaccentuée [--]. Mots constr. soudés, sauf quand 2 unités entrent en jeu: ténosynovite ou téno-synovite.
